Larimar

Larimar (scientifically known as Blue Pectolite) is one of the rarest and most visually stunning gemstones on the planet. Often called the "Dolphin Stone" or the "Atlantis Stone," it is famous for its "Caribbean-blue" hues that perfectly mimic the appearance of sunlight dancing on the surface of tropical water. It is characterized by a soft, marbled pattern of sky blue, teal, and white "sea-foam" streaks. While Pectolite is found in many places, it is almost always grey or white; Larimar is the only variety in the world to display this distinct volcanic blue, caused by the presence of copper.

With a Mohs hardness of 4.5 to 5, Larimar is a relatively soft and delicate stone. It is "photosensitive," meaning prolonged exposure to intense sunlight can cause its vibrant blue to fade over time.
