Rutilized Quartz

Rutilated Quartz is a visually arresting variety of Macrocrystalline Quartz characterized by the presence of needle-like inclusions of Rutile, a mineral composed primarily of titanium dioxide. These inclusions—often called "Venus Hair" or "Cupid’s Darts"—can appear in spectacular shades of metallic gold, fiery copper-red, or deep, silken black.

While most gemstones are valued for their lack of inclusions, Rutilated Quartz is prized specifically for them. The clear or smoky quartz acts as a magnifying glass, showcasing the intricate, web-like patterns of the rutile "needles." This results in a stone that looks as though it has captured a miniature electrical storm or a bundle of golden silk within its crystal structure.
