Sodalite

Sodalite is a stunning mineral prized for its rich, royal blue color and its distinctive, mottled white veining. While it is often compared to Lapis Lazuli, Sodalite is a separate mineral group (sodium aluminum silicate chloride) and is distinguished by its lack of gold-toned pyrite flecks. Instead, its "matrix" is typically composed of white Calcite, creating a "stormy sky" aesthetic that is both sophisticated and organic.

Discovered in Greenland in the early 1800s and later popularized after a vast deposit was found in Ontario, Canada (leading to its nickname "Princess Blue"), Sodalite has become a staple for jewelers who want a high-impact blue stone that balances elegance with a rugged, natural feel.
